the summer of jay
est. 2008
On May 1, 2008 I will officially be on the dole and with a far better deal than Costanza got from the Yankees.
Layoffs as a result of corporate cost-saving measures will allow me to take some time to explore my surroundings, expand my knowledge, and enjoy the company of friends and family. There are many things I want to do, some are already booked while others wait to find a open slot in the coming months.
I’ve heard that others with this opportunity filled their days to maximum capacity and subsequently found it difficult to scale back once gainful employment resumed. I hope to have the same problem and I intend to do what I can to make it happen.
I’m a bit of a techno-geek. I’ve dabbled in creating web pages, participated in a variety of online communities and forums, and sampled lots Web 1.0 & 2.0 stuff but I’ve never maintained a “proper” blog. This ongoing experiment will be prone to fits of enthusiastic activity interspersed with periods of dead silence.
You’ve been warned.
I'm gonna read a book. From beginning to end...
“Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.”
Douglas Adams
